San Francisco Business Attorney

Based In The Bay Area

Daniel Blomgren

Daniel Blomgren

Daniel Blomgren helps entrepreneurs and small business owners find and grow their companies. He enjoys working with clients to identify their goals, and to come up with solutions to achieve them.

Daniel’s entrepreneurial spirit emerged in college at UC Berkeley. Daniel chose to supplement his studies in Business Administration by turning his love for cooking into a small catering business. Knowing very little about the legal aspects of operating a business, he took a course on business law, which is where he ultimately found his calling to become an attorney.

Daniel went on to earn his J.D. at University of San Francisco School of Law, where he took coursework on corporations, taxation, negotiation, contracts, and bankruptcy. Daniel’s ultimate goal was to start a law firm, but he first gained experience representing clients in business transactions and disputes at Gordon & Rees in their San Francisco office, and then Clapp Moroney in their San Bruno office.

Daniel lives in Redwood City with his wife, Vickie, who is a gastroenterologist. In his free time, Daniel enjoys cooking over a live fire, exploring the Bay Area by bicycle, winemaking and homebrewing, and serenading his wife on the piano.

Employee or Independent Contractor in California? The ABC Test and Why Getting It Wrong Can Cost Your Business

By madwire | October 22, 2026

One of the most common—and most expensive—mistakes California business owners make is treating a worker as an independent contractor when the law treats them as an employee. Many owners assume that calling someone a “1099 contractor,” having them sign an independent contractor agreement, or letting them set their own hours settles the question. In California,…

Asset Sale vs. Equity Sale: Which Is Right for Your Business?

By madwire | October 22, 2026

Whether you’re buying a business, selling one you’ve spent years building, or just weighing your options, one of the first and most important decisions is how to structure the deal. Using AI to Draft Contracts: Benefits, Limits, and Risks

By madwire | October 22, 2026

Artificial intelligence has become a powerful business tool. It can summarize information, generate ideas, organize documents, and even draft contracts in seconds. For many business owners, that speed is understandably appealing. But when it comes to legal agreements, an important distinction often gets overlooked: A contract isn’t valuable because it exists. It’s valuable because it…
